London, UK. 04/09/2010..Around two thousand people, mainly Muslims, gathered at Marble Arch for the start of the annual march and rally. Among them were a group of ultra-orthodox anti-Zionist Neturei Karta jews who had walked from Stoke Newington to take part in the event, and some small left-wing groups...Al-Quds day was initiated by the late Imam Khomeini of Iran as last Friday of Ramadan, as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people and of opposition to the Israeli control of Jerusalem, as well as more widely "a day for the oppressed to rise and stand up against the arrogant."
